Alexander Mouzouri

As a native English speaker from England, I bring both linguistic authenticity and cultural insight to my teaching. My lessons are dynamic, interactive, and always tailored to the needs of my students. I believe that language learning should be enjoyable and confidence-building, so I incorporate creative, student-centered methods that make each session engaging and memorable.

My teaching experience spans across various high schools in Austria, including placements in Linz, Vienna, and Graz through the Lilac company. In these settings, I worked with students aged 10 to 18, helping them develop their English skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I collaborated with local teachers to support the curriculum, while also introducing fresh, creative content that reflected real-life communication.

In my classes, I prioritise active participation. Whether through debates, roleplays, storytelling, or games, I encourage students to use English in meaningful ways. I often design lessons around topics that interest them—pop culture, travel, global issues—so they stay motivated and curious. I also make room for grammar and vocabulary development, but always in context and through practice rather than rote learning.

A typical lesson with me might involve a warm-up activity to get everyone speaking, followed by a focused task that integrates language skills, and a wrap-up that reflects on progress and reinforces learning. I always aim to build a positive atmosphere where students feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and grow. Above all, I want learners to leave my classes feeling more confident, capable, and enthusiastic about English.
