Hello!

Currently I live in the United States, but I am going to be moving to Europe (probably late) this summer! For now I am limited to weekends for availability, with a preference for the late afternoon-onward Europe time due to the time difference. Once I am moved over to Europe, I can expand my availability!

Learning new languages is a hobby for many people these days. You can now find a wealth of resources for how to learn, from the daily habits of influencers to research papers from linguistics researchers. It can all get overwhelming, especially when the information you find by one source can be completely contradicted by another source!

In my personal experience, I think it is a great idea that you are exploring the option of seeking a tutor: one thing we can offer which is often lacking in any videos or apps is that we can tailor our teaching methods and advice to your ability level, goals, and interests!

My teaching method is highly devoted to the interests of my students. We can discuss through messages and in a live meeting what your level might be across listening, speaking, reading, and writing; what areas of English you would like to focus on developing; your goals for learning English; and what areas of interest you have, which we can use as the subject of our sessions.

In addition to customising what and how I teach to your unique wants and needs, as a teacher I am interested in teaching you how to teach yourself. For example, I would like to help you develop your capabilities in pattern recognition for the purposes of improving your grammar: by reading and/or listening to more English, you can develop a sense for the grammar you need by uncovering patterns, which you can then start to apply your speaking and writing! Where this method fails, I will illustrate why and how the grammar works differently from what was expected.

Something unconventional I would be happy to help with is pronunciation! Whether you only want to pronounce difficult words, or if you would like to sound more like a native speaker, I can coach you on your speech! Additionally, I have some methods I will teach you so that you can improve your pronunciation independently as well!
