Daria Butenko

I have over 7 years of experience teaching Russian as a foreign language to both children and adults in a variety of settings—including international schools, language centers, and online. At Brookes Russia IB School, I taught PYP, MYP, and DP students, focusing on language acquisition in a multilingual and multicultural environment. I also participated in the IB accreditation process, which helped me grow as a reflective and internationally minded educator.

My teaching is interactive, student-centered, and goal-oriented. I believe that students learn best when they feel seen and supported, so I always build a trusting, friendly atmosphere in the classroom. I adapt my lessons to each student’s level and interests, combining modern communicative methods with grammar explanations and cultural insights.

In class, we speak a lot, read authentic texts, watch videos, play games, and explore Russian culture. I also design my own worksheets and interactive materials, and I love seeing how even shy students begin to express themselves with confidence.

Whether online or in person, I focus on making lessons meaningful, dynamic, and effective.
