Denise Romero

I am a passionate Biology specialist and international educator with experience teaching Science across KS3, IGCSE, and A Level. I enjoy helping students develop confidence in science by creating lessons that are engaging, supportive, and adapted to their individual learning styles and academic goals. My teaching approach focuses not only on improving subject knowledge, but also on developing curiosity, critical thinking, and independent learning skills.

My lessons are interactive and student-centred, combining clear explanations with real-world scientific applications, visual resources, discussion, and exam-style practice. I aim to make complex topics easier to understand by breaking concepts down step by step and connecting them to everyday life. Depending on the student’s needs, lessons may include revision techniques, structured note-making, scientific vocabulary support, problem-solving activities, and guidance with assessments or examinations.

As an international teacher, I have worked with students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, which has helped me become adaptable, patient, and understanding in my teaching methods. I believe students learn best in positive environments where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence gradually.

I particularly enjoy teaching Biology topics such as genetics, biotechnology, human physiology, and scientific investigations, while also supporting students in general Science and exam preparation. My goal is always to help students feel more motivated, capable, and successful in their learning journey.

I also value strong communication with both students and parents, ensuring lessons remain encouraging, organised, and goal-oriented. I strive to help students become more confident learners while developing long-term academic skills and scientific understanding.
