I typically work with scenarios practice real-life simulations. These can be entirely tailored to the content and subjects of the client.

I taught a B2 intensive English course where I was asked to provide rigorous and structured gammar lessons. But that can be so tedious! I complimentated all that grammar exercises with more practical stuff. I employed different role-playing activities, reading and listening-comprehension tasks from current news stories or popular culture or writing samples for job applications.

I have also tutored plenty of different professionals with custom activities. I helped a psychology professor practice her English ahead of a guest professorship. I worked with IT and engineering professionals to work on their comfortability with speaking English in work-contexts. I even tutored Matura students to help them prepare for their exams. And throughout my pervious career in political science, I edited a bunch of different research articles, blog posts, funding proposals and everything that comes along with research.

Way back in my 20s, I also worked with school children at a summer camp. While I would prefer working with adults, I have never lost the sense that learning should be fun and engaging. I believe that English is a super accessible and maleable language that you can mold to fit your needs. And it doesn't have to be a challenging slog that you have to clench your teeth to master.

I grew up in the USA, but I have been around enough Brits, Irish folk, Aussies, Scots and the rest of the lot to know how spelling can be different. Just don't expect me to help you sound like King Charles.
