My teaching style is dynamic, adaptive, and student-centered. I believe that effective learning happens when students are engaged, challenged, and supported at the same time. My approach combines structured academic content with interactive methods that encourage critical thinking, active participation, and independent learning.
Teaching Methods
I tailor my teaching methods to the needs and levels of my students. For younger students, I incorporate visual aids, games, storytelling, and interactive exercises to maintain attention and make lessons more engaging. For older students, I use a mix of Socratic questioning, problem-solving activities, real-life applications, and exam-style practice to deepen understanding.
In both individual and group settings, I often use the “explain, apply, reflect” model:
Explain: I provide clear, concise explanations of new material.
Apply: Students solve problems, complete exercises, or participate in discussions.
Reflect: We review mistakes, analyze reasoning, and reinforce key concepts.
Content and Structure
Whether teaching mathematics or English, I always start by identifying students’ current level and goals. I then develop a customized lesson plan that breaks down the content into achievable units. For math, this may involve theory, formulas, problem sets, and real-world applications. For English, it often includes grammar, vocabulary, speaking exercises, writing tasks, and exam preparation (e.g., IELTS).
I integrate digital tools and resources such as online quizzes, video content, and chess engines (in math-related logic classes), which enhance both engagement and comprehension.
Class Dynamics
My classes are structured but flexible. I ensure that every student feels comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and expressing their thoughts. I encourage collaboration and often introduce short group challenges or team problem-solving tasks. I monitor student progress closely and adjust the pace as needed. I also provide regular feedback and motivate students to take ownership of their learning.
Teaching Experience
I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide age range of students:
As an English tutor in a kindergarten, I focused on early language development, speech improvement, and confidence-building.
As a math tutor and Olympiad coach, I trained middle school students for national and international competitions, guiding them through complex concepts and strategies.
As a debate and public speaking coach, I mentored students in crafting arguments, improving delivery, and developing critical thinking.
Additionally, I’ve organized and led academic events such as math olympiads, conducted lectures, and helped students prepare for standardized exams, including the IELTS and Kazakhstan’s national assessments.
