My teaching methodology is based on the Fullness (my online school) approach, a communication-focused method developed to help students understand how English works and, most importantly, use it independently.

One of the main principles of my approach is that students need to understand the structure of a language in order to communicate confidently. Instead of focusing primarily on memorizing isolated grammar rules or vocabulary lists, I guide students to recognize patterns, understand sentence structure, and build their own sentences.

A central element of the Fullness approach is the role of verbs in English. Students first develop a strong understanding of the structures that allow them to form sentences and communicate basic ideas. From there, we gradually expand their ability to use other verbs, tenses, structures, and more complex forms of communication. This creates a clear progression and helps students understand why sentences are formed in a particular way.

My lessons combine explanation and active practice. I may introduce a grammatical structure, provide relevant vocabulary, and then immediately encourage the student to create and adapt sentences using that structure. This allows students to move from understanding to production instead of remaining passive recipients of information.

I also use techniques such as guided speaking practice, repetition, shadowing, interactive activities, games, and contextualized exercises. These activities are selected according to the student’s level and objectives and are designed to reinforce both linguistic accuracy and fluency.

Personalization is another essential part of my methodology. I consider each student's previous knowledge, difficulties, learning pace, interests, and goals when planning lessons. An adult learning English for professional purposes, for example, may need a different vocabulary and communicative practice from a student preparing for an academic context or someone who simply wants to become more confident in everyday conversations.

I also believe that understanding the learner is part of teaching the language. When students understand not only what to say but why English works the way it does, they become more autonomous learners. For this reason, I use clear explanations and, when helpful, comparisons with Portuguese to make difficult concepts more accessible.
