Hello everyone!

My name's Jana and I graduated with a Master's Degree in British and American Studies in 2013. Since then, I’ve gained a lot of experience teaching both general and business English to individuals as well groups, F2F as well as online.

For me, teaching adults means a unique opportunity to experience a wide range of clients from different industries and interesting backgrounds, a challenge to meet their specific requirements and an extremely rewarding feeling to see them making progress and performing in English.

I prefer a student-centred and communicative approach to teaching English in combination with real-time error correction. Of course, I also pay attention to other stepping stones, like grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and the other skills (reading, listening as well as writing). However, from my experience, the key skill all students struggle with the most - from junior employees to executive officers at top positions - is speaking. They are ashamed to show their insufficient language skills as well as afraid of making mistakes and coming across as incompetent. I work with all these barriers and in the end, it has always been a successful story, although the path towards is neither easy nor short. Those of you, who you've been trying to achieve a higher level for years, know it the best, right? ;-)

Besides teaching, I'm also experienced in helping manage a language company, which means that I take care of academic as well as operational agenda and oversee a team of teachers from different parts of the world. I'm also responsible for placement testing, creating course designs and working with customers from the first point of contact to feedback on the course they've taken part in.
