My aim is to make maths feel clear, approachable, and even enjoyable for students of any level. I've taught for several years across nursery, primary, and secondary settings, and that experience has shown me how to tailor my style to each learner's pace, needs, and goals.
Each lesson begins with getting to know where the student currently stands and which areas need the most attention. From there, I guide them through new ideas one step at a time, using straightforward explanations, worked examples, and hands-on problem-solving. I care less about memorising formulas and more about helping students grasp the reasoning behind each method, so they can apply it confidently to problems they haven't seen before.
Lessons are always two-way. Students are encouraged to speak up, ask questions, talk through their thinking, and try problems on their own. As their understanding grows, I raise the level of challenge, returning to tricky topics whenever they need another look. For those preparing for exams, I also offer focused revision, past-paper practice, and guidance on exam technique, speed, and accuracy.
My own background supports this approach. I graduated with a First Class Honours BSc. in Mathematics, earned the Mathematics Department Prize and Dean's List recognition, received a departmental research award, and worked as a university-level maths tutor.
Above all, I want every student to feel relaxed and supported, comfortable with making mistakes and asking for help. My goal goes beyond getting the right answer: I want to build real understanding, lasting confidence, and the ability to solve problems independently.
