I began my career as an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teacher for middle school students. In that role, I developed and implemented a curriculum that helped my students bridge learning gaps and succeed in competitive high school programs. Later, I had the opportunity to teach kindergarten at a private school. During those seven years, I learned the importance of engaging, well-planned lessons. Over the next five years, I served as a principal and assistant principal at various primary and secondary schools. In these roles, I ensured the effective implementation of instructional strategies. I created environments where students could struggle productively and learn effectively. I developed professional learning communities where teachers learn and share instructional approaches. In addition to these administrative roles, I also held several teaching positions, including Early Intervention Program (EIP) Teacher in Literacy, where I helped students develop personalized literacy strategies to improve their reading skills. I also worked as a secondary English teacher, guiding students to analyze authentic texts, discuss their content, and write responsive essays.
I specialize in assessing your needs, discussing your academic goals, and will plan strategic lessons to meet those academic goals.
