My Korean lessons are personalised, practical, and designed to help you feel comfortable using the language. I welcome adult beginners and learners who would like to refresh their knowledge. Lessons take place online, using English for explanations and Korean for practice, with more Korean introduced as your confidence grows.
We’ll begin by discussing your goals, interests, and previous learning experience. Whether you want to prepare for a trip to Korea, understand Korean culture, or have everyday conversations, we’ll create a learning plan that suits your needs and pace.
For complete beginners, we’ll start with Hangeul, the Korean alphabet, alongside pronunciation and useful everyday expressions. We’ll gradually introduce vocabulary, sentence structure, basic grammar, and polite forms of speech. Topics can include introducing yourself, ordering food, shopping, talking about your hobbies, and making plans. Depending on your interests, we can also use examples from K-pop, Korean dramas, and everyday life in Korea.
A typical lesson will begin with a short review, followed by a new topic and guided practice. You’ll then use what you’ve learned in short conversations or role-play activities. We’ll finish with individual feedback and a recap of useful expressions. If you would like extra practice, I can suggest small activities to complete between lessons.
I’m warm, patient, and attentive, and I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. As someone learning German from scratch, I understand the frustration of knowing what you want to say but struggling to express it. I aim to offer clear explanations, gentle corrections, and encouragement throughout your learning process.
My professional background is in design and architecture. These experiences have strengthened my creativity, organisation, and attention to detail—qualities I bring to planning lessons and presenting information clearly. As a native Korean speaker and a master’s student living in Hamburg, I look forward to sharing my language and culture while supporting your progress.
