My lessons are built around one core idea: chemistry and science make sense when you connect them to something real. Rather than starting with abstract formulas, I like to begin with a question or a real world example the student already has some intuition about, then work backward into the underlying concept. This makes even tricky topics like stoichiometry, chemical bonding, or thermodynamics feel logical rather than intimidating.

Teaching methods: I use a mix of guided questioning, worked examples, and plenty of practice problems, adjusting the pace and depth based on how a student is actually processing the material, not a fixed script. If a concept isn't clicking one way, we try a different angle, a diagram, an analogy, a hands-on demonstration where possible, until it lands. My background in Guidance and Counseling also plays a real role here, I pay close attention to what's actually blocking a student, whether it's a gap in fundamentals, exam anxiety, or just a lack of confidence, and I adjust my approach accordingly rather than just repeating the same explanation louder.

Content: Lessons are tailored to the student's actual curriculum or exam board, whether that's general school chemistry, A Levels, or foundational science for younger students. I structure content around building from fundamentals upward, so a student isn't just cramming for the next test but actually developing a base they can build on.

Lesson dynamics: Sessions are interactive rather than lecture-style. I ask a lot of questions to check real understanding as we go, not just at the end, and I build in regular practice and review so concepts stick. For younger or more anxious students, I keep the tone light and encouraging; for exam-focused students, I bring more structure and timed practice.

Experience: Over 12+ years, I've taught and tutored across a wide age and level range, served as Head of Science Department, and mentored both students and fellow teachers. That range means I've learned to recognize quickly where a student's real difficulty lies, and to meet them there rather than assuming one method fits everyone.
