I have experience teaching and supporting primary-aged learners in Mathematics, particularly within the Key Stage 2 age range. I work with learners of different abilities and support their understanding through guided practice, clear explanations, and step-by-step problem solving. My experience includes helping learners build confidence, improve accuracy, and develop a positive attitude towards Mathematics.My expertise lies in breaking down mathematical concepts into simple, manageable steps that learners can easily understand. I support learners in areas such as number sense, addition and subtraction, multiplication, problem-solving, and foundational reasoning skills.
I focus on helping learners understand the why behind mathematical processes, not just memorize answers. My Mathematics lessons are structured, interactive, and learner-centred. I begin by assessing what the learner already knows, then introduce new concepts using simple language and practical examples. Lessons include guided practice, visual supports, and regular checks for understanding. I encourage learners to ask questions and practice independently, and I end each session with a short review to reinforce learning and build confidence.
I place strong emphasis on creating a calm and encouraging learning environment where learners feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. I adapt my teaching pace to suit individual learning needs and use positive reinforcement to motivate progress. I also communicate clearly with parents or guardians when needed, sharing learning goals and progress updates to support consistent learning beyond lessons.
