I have 2.5 years of ESL teaching experience, including work in language schools, a primary/elementary school, and online settings. I have primarily taught general English, but I have also instructed professional English to business students seeking to enhance their professional Proficiency in the workplace.
My teaching methods are flexible, depending on the students' needs. My teaching and communication style is adaptive, accommodating to the students' level. I always make my lessons student-oriented, encouraging the student to solve language issues with guidance rather than giving them the answer or lecturing the student about that issue in the language, as I am not looking to demotivate the students - it's all about making the student feel confident. Additionally, I correct mistakes only when it is necessary. I will not do it all the time, as this would disrupt the lesson flow. However, if you are happy with me correcting you regularly, then let me know.
In terms of content, tell me what you would like to do or what you need help with. I can provide lessons on grammar and vocabulary, conversation practice, tasks that I can help you with, such as homework, test and/or exam preparation, in addition to content focused on your profession. I can provide homework on request, but if you don't want any homework, that's fine.
Above all, the focus of each lesson is to maintain a strong rapport with the student, to make them feel as if they are learning with a friend rather than a teacher. This is an important approach of mine as I want to make the student feel less anxious, motivated and confident during their learning experience.
