In my lessons, content is skill-focused and age-appropriate. In English, I help children build vocabulary, speaking confidence, listening skills, and early reading and writing abilities, while becoming comfortable with English as a global language. In history, I introduce children to important periods, people, and places through storytelling, helping them develop a sense of time, cause and consequence, and how past actions shape the present. Emotional literacy, curiosity, and cultural awareness are naturally woven into my teaching.
My teaching dynamics are structured, creative, and child-led. Each lesson has a clear rhythm to provide safety and focus, while remaining flexible to adapt to the child's energy, interests, and needs. I use hands-on, creativity-based methods, such as storytelling, drawing, games, and discussion, because young children learn best when they are actively engaged. I aim to create a warm, encouraging environment where children feel confident, curious, and excited to learn.
My teaching experience began at Tromsø International School, where I supported new students in learning English and adjusting to school life, developing empathy, patience, and adaptability. For the past two years, I've also babysat two kindergarten-aged children, practicing Norwegian with them through play and everyday activities, which strengthened my ability to teach languages naturally and enjoyably. My most significant teaching experience, however, took place in July 2025, when I worked as Head Teacher on an educational project in Songea, Tanzania. I designed the syllabus and lesson plans and, together with other teachers, taught English as well as emotional and environmental literacy to both kindergarten-aged and older children—key pillars of innovative, child-centered education.
