Nicole Angwenyi

I am currently in my second year of medical school at the University of Kisii, with a solid academic grounding in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology that goes back to my own time in secondary school, where these were consistently my strongest subjects.
My interest in teaching did not begin as a job, it started informally, during free periods in high school, when classmates would come to me for help working through difficult topics and past examination papers in Mathematics. Over time this became something I actively sought out rather than simply fell into. One case that stands out was a classmate struggling in Chemistry: rather than repeating explanations that clearly were not working, I rebuilt her understanding from scratch using flowcharts and had her create her own summaries. She went on to become one of the top performers in the subject, which taught me that how something is explained often matters more than how many times it is explained.
I later applied the same principle over a more sustained period, designing and running a four-month academic programme for my younger sister ahead of her transition to high school. The consistency of that routine, rather than any single method, seemed to make the difference, she has since gone on to do well academically and taken up a leadership role in Mathematics herself.
I bring discipline, clarity, and patience to teaching, along with a genuine interest in adapting to how each student learns best. I am confident teaching Mathematics and Chemistry at various levels.
