I am a professional English immersion coach at FluencyWizard! I have helped clients land jobs in English, improve their pronunciation and expressiveness, and help them overcome anxiety and challenges that come up in their learning journey.

I have experience learning Japanese to a working proficiency, so I understand the frustration and challenges that come with learning a second language. I have had to overcome many of these challenges myself.

What differentiates me from other tutors is that I care about the structure required to meet your learning needs and life goals. Learning isn’t about following a list of things to remember. It’s about experimentation, creating an environment where you can stay consistent, and overcoming your doubts. The best learning happens when you are relaxed and having fun. I work with you to create this optimal environment.

I don’t directly teach and test you on new words and grammar and force you to follow a textbook. Instead, I practice English with you by speaking with you in a way that is easy for you to understand and process. We focus on making sure you don't develop bad habits and mistakes in speech early on, while still leaving room for enough flexibility for your English to develop naturally.

My approach is heavily based on Stephen Krashen's input hypothesis of language learning, self directed learning, speech language pathology, and positive reinforcement.

If requested, we can also use video games, scenes from movies and television shows, and other creative immersive tools to help you learn with a lot of context.
