As a tutor, my approach is student-centered, supportive, and goal-oriented, built on over two decades of teaching experience since 2002, including classroom teaching in both the Philippines and the United States through Baltimore City Public Schools. I begin with baseline data assessments to identify each student’s specific needs, strengths, and current performance level, which allows me to design targeted and personalized instruction. I use differentiated teaching strategies that include direct instruction, guided practice, interactive discussions, visual aids, and real-life examples to make learning meaningful and accessible. A typical lesson starts with a warm-up or review of prior knowledge, followed by explicit teaching and modeling, guided practice with immediate feedback, independent application, and a brief reflection or assessment to monitor progress and adjust instruction as needed. What sets me apart is my ability to build strong relationships with students, create a safe and encouraging learning environment, and adapt my teaching to different learning styles and academic levels. As a TEFL-certified, highly adaptable educator with strong work ethics, I support diverse learners—including elementary and middle school students, English language learners, and students needing additional support in English, reading, math, and foundational skills—helping them build confidence, master skills, and become independent learners.
