How my lessons work

Every child is different, so before we start I talk with the family about the child’s age, level and goals: first words, school Spanish, or simply speaking with relatives and friends. Then I plan each lesson around that.

A typical lesson (45–60 min):

Warm-up: a short chat or game to start speaking Spanish from the first minute.
New content: vocabulary and expressions on one topic (animals, food, family, school, hobbies, travel…), with pictures, stories and real objects.
Practice: role-plays, songs, memory and guessing games, short reading or drawing activities, so the new words are used, not just memorised.
Pronunciation: fun repetition and listening exercises to sound natural.
Short goodbye in Spanish and a small, optional challenge for home.

For younger children the lessons are very playful and active. For older children I add reading, writing and grammar in a simple way, and I can help with school homework and test preparation.

My experience
I am a native Spanish speaker, born in Bolivia and raised in Spain, so I can show children both Latin American and European Spanish. As a volunteer at Accem, I taught Spanish to refugees, focusing on everyday conversation. At university I gave Spanish lessons to international exchange students as part of my role in the Erasmus Student Network and the Buddy Programme, and I tutored classmates in accounting, economics, political science and statistics.

My strengths are patience, empathy and clear explanations. I am learning German myself, so I know how it feels to start a new language and how much encouragement helps. My goal is that children enjoy Spanish and feel proud every time they understand and speak a little more.
